Welcome to the Volunteer Section!

It has been a busy year and I can't thank our volunteers enough for all of their hard work this year. We are powered by permits but driven by VOLUNTEERS! We are seeking the "next generation" of volunteers to help us keep our club and trails going! We welcome all ages. Last year we had ages 4 year to 80 year come out. Volunteering can be a fulfilling family experience. One of our Volunteer families had three Generations out to help.

Along with getting out on the trails and enjoying the Canadian Winters, our Club holds several exciting events. There are numerous ways that you can help. If you only have a few hours to contribute you can help with things like, setting up for fundraisers, special events like our Poker Run or Vintage Day. If you have a few hours a month available you might want to help with social media sites or our web site. If you have a flare for organizing we are always looking for help in our canteen or with our spring Volunteer dinner or Christmas Landowner dinners. It doesn't end there, you might pick health & safety, risk management, event planning. If you love to be out in the bush with a great team of hard workers there is trail brushing and signs to be installed. The list goes on and you don't have to put a lot of hours in to make a difference. If we all pitch in, it lightens the work load for everyone.

The outdoors is a great place to be. Our club is in the heart of Lennox & Addington County with trails extending into Frontenac County. We have just submitted a proposal for OFSC's approval to ride the K & P trail north towards Sharbot Lake. This will add even more kilometers of trail that will require grooming, brushing, signage, trail patrol, and mapping. We have a great club house in Yarker and with a canteen which is open on weekends when the trial is open. If you like the kitchen this might be where you choose to volunteer. We need lots of help selling hot dogs, chocolate bars, chips or hot drinks to riders!

Our Club Volunteers are invaluable. We are appreciative of each and every one who takes time from their busy schedules to help out. Our club members take pride in what they do and we are looking for likeminded volunteers. Our volunteer program will give you the satisfaction that come with a hard day's work along with the chance to meet new people that share interests. Talk to us if you need hours for a reference letter or need volunteer hours to help out with your resume. If you're looking for a club with a number of opportunities L & A Ridgerunners is the club to join and the place to be.

I encourage you to attend a meeting or an event and see how you can get involved. There is no mandatory time commitment. If you can only give a few hours or a day here and there we understand and appreciate any help that a volunteer is willing to give. Bring a friend along or a family member. There are club recognition awards for people who step up and do a great job, like Volunteer of the Year, Family of the Year, Driver Trainer, and Trail Patrol just to name a few. Currently we are seeking people to help out with our Driver Training program. If you are interested in becoming a trainer helper and perhaps later on want to teach the next generation how to snowmobile, then this is for you!

Volunteers are what make our club and the OFSC trails happen. We would love to have you on our team and look forward to meeting you. Please fill out the form below and it will be emailed to me, Club Volunteer Coordinator and I will get back to you!
